Making a print for jewelry – how does it work?

At Impona, you can easily make a print for jewelry yourself, whether it’s from a fingertip, hand, foot, or paw. We offer two safe and easy-to-use methods: a putty kit and an ink kit. Both options are suitable for people of all ages and can be used at home in just a few simple steps.

Putty kit for a lasting 3D print

The putty kit allows you to make a three-dimensional print in soft, skin-friendly material. After a few minutes, the mold hardens and remains usable for years. From one mold, we can create multiple jewelry pieces — now or later.

The putty kit is perfect for:

  • Fingertips (adults and children)

  • Hands and feet of babies (under 1 year we use visible skin lines instead of fingerprints)

  • Animal paws (usually the large pad or a full 3D paw shape)

The print on the jewelry is always a positive imprint — exactly as it appears on the skin or paw, not mirrored like an ink stamp.

Ink kit for a clean and simple flat print

The ink kit creates a flat, detailed print on special paper. It’s quick, clean, and ideal in situations where using putty is not possible — for example, with loved ones who have passed.

You’ll receive an ink sheet and print paper, allowing you to create one or more prints. Then, send us a scan or sharp photo of the result. We’ll use that image to craft your unique jewelry piece.

The ink kit is suitable for:

  • Fingers, hands, or feet

  • Animal paws

  • Fast and simple situations where time is a factor

What happens after making a print for your jewelry?

Once your print is ready, simply send us the mold or an image of the ink print. Then:

  1. We select the most detailed part (or your preferred section)

  2. We incorporate it into the jewelry design of your choice

  3. Your piece is handmade with care and attention
